Paid Family Caregiver Program

This program allows family members or trusted individuals to get paid for caring for a loved one who qualifies for Medicaid-based services.
We’ll guide you through the key requirements and help you apply with expert support — making the process clear and stress-free.

Get Paid to Care for Your Loved One

At Kingdom Keys, we believe that no one cares more than family — and now, your care can become your profession.

The Paid Family Caregiver Program allows eligible individuals receiving Medicaid to choose a family member or trusted friend to become their official caregiver and receive financial compensation for their care.

Who Can Benefit?

If you or a loved one needs assistance at home due to age, a disability, or a medical condition, and meets the requirements for Medicaid, you could be eligible for this program. Your adult child, a sibling, a grandchild, or even a close friend can provide care and receive financial compensation.

Legal Requirements to Participate for the Beneficiary

  • Nebraska residency.
  • You must qualify for Medicaid and be approved for the AD Waiver or another home care program.
  • Requires a nursing home level of care.

Legal Requirements to Participate for the Family Caregiver:

  • Family Ties: It is possible to designate a family member as an assistant. However, in specific programs such as the AD Waiver, a spouse cannot serve as the designated caregiver, except under authorized exceptions.
  • Security Screening: All candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive background check before being authorized to serve.
  • Mandatory Training: Applicants are required to complete the necessary training programs and basic certifications to ensure the provision of quality service.
  • Contractual Exclusivity: Individuals who are already receiving remuneration as a legal caregiver through another concurrent government or private assistance program are ineligible.
